Francis Marsac IRD, Elliott Sucré CUFR Mayotte and Marc Troussellier CNRS, are named members of the Scientific Council of the Glorieuses Archipelago for a period of 4 years.

Created on 8 June 2021, the objective of the Glorieuses archipelago national nature reserve is to protect the terrestrial and marine biodiversity of this fragile area, with more than 3 000 inventoried species.
The fields of expertise represented on the scientific council cover at least the following disciplines or themes:
- coral reefs (benthos and ichthyofauna)
- oceanography
- fisheries science
- marine megafauna
- terrestrial flora and habitats
- geology and geomorphology
The scientific council is consulted on the programmes for implementing the reserve's management plan, on the regulations to be issued, and on the research to be developed to improve knowledge about the archipelago.
