In 2025, to mark the Year of the Sea, Génération Mer is launching the first edition of the Étoiles Bleues Literary Prize to celebrate the richness of maritime literature. Together with the Fondation de la Mer, on September 30, at the Tour Séquoia in La Défense, they awarded this prize in the “Scientific Mediation” category to Jérôme BOURJEA, Hendrik SAUVIGNET and Stéphane CICCIONE for their book "Les Tortues marines" (Sea Turtles) published by Quæ Editions. This book uses 80 questions to explain the lifestyle of these protected species and the threats they face.

A jury chaired by Christophe Agnus, writer and publisher, and composed of booksellers, librarians, teachers, media librarians, scientific and cultural mediators, parents and marine enthusiasts, preselected three books per category. The public was then invited to read and vote for their favourite book in the category of their choice.
Fifteen books were shortlisted in each category (Children, Young People, Teenagers, Adults, Science Communication) by more than 600 public votes. There were 90 votes for the ‘Children’ category, 145 votes for ‘Young Adults’, 67 votes for ‘Teenagers’, 109 votes for “Adults” and 207 votes for ‘Scientific Mediation’.
