The book “Les Tortues marines” (Sea Turtles) wins the "Étoiles Bleues" award in the “Scientific Mediation” category

In 2025, to mark the Year of the Sea, Génération Mer is launching the first edition of the Étoiles Bleues Literary Prize to celebrate the richness of maritime literature. Together with the Fondation de la Mer, on September 30, at the Tour Séquoia in La Défense, they awarded this prize in the “Scientific Mediation” category to Jérôme BOURJEA, Hendrik SAUVIGNET and Stéphane CICCIONE for their book "Les Tortues marines" (Sea Turtles). This book uses 80 questions to explain the lifestyle of these protected species and the threats they face.

15 books were ranked in each category (Children, Young People, Teenagers, Adults, Science Communication) by more than 600 public votes. There were 90 votes for the Children's category, 145 votes for the Young Adults category, 67 votes for the Teenagers category, 109 votes for the Adults category and 207 votes for the Scientific Mediation category.

In the Children's category, Carine PRACHE and her beautifully illustrated book La mer, la nuit (The Sea at Night) take us on a poetic dive into the depths of the sea.

Alessia BACCI and Antoine DORÉ won the prize in the Youth category for La Vie marine (Marine Life), a fascinating encounter with the living world of the ocean. The prize in the Teenager category goes to Oxcean by Nicolas MICHEL, for his futuristic adventure combining underwater life and the human world.

Emmanuelle FAVIER tells a love story between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean in her book Écouter les Eaux vives (Listening to the White Water), winner of the Adult category.
