Organized by CIRCE (Conservación, Información y Estudio sobre cetáceos), which has played a leading role in understanding the impact of human activities on orcas, and Logistica, this symposium will address orca behavior, social structures and conservation measures. Environmental challenges and educational programs to protect these marine mammals will also be discussed.
Paul TIXIER (IRD, MARBEC) whose research focuses on the behavioral ecology of large marine predators and on human-wildlife conflicts in the oceans, is co-organizing this international meeting as a member of the scientific committee.
